Purpose
The goal of this website is simple: to make film history pleasant to wander through. Rather than presenting films as a searchable list or a grid of thumbnails, CHRONOS places them in chronological order along a wide, quiet corridor. Scrolling moves you through time, and each film appears as a column in a long gallery.
The project exists for enjoyment and casual discovery. It is not a review site, a streaming service, or a database meant for research. It is a reading room.
What it is
- A static, content-only website — plain HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- A chronological display of films, each with its poster, year, director, cast, genre, and a short description.
- A horizontal browsing experience with a few quiet navigation aids: a spectrum strip at the bottom, and decade and genre filters in the corners.
- Free to browse. There are no accounts, no logins, and nothing to sign up for.
What it is not
- It does not host or stream any films. Posters and text are used only for identification and context.
- It does not sell anything, accept payments, or run subscriptions.
- It does not collect personal information through forms, and it does not create user profiles.
- It is maintained by one person in spare time, so updates and replies may be slow.
Content & sources
Each film entry links out to its source page on The Movie Database (TMDB), where the underlying metadata and imagery originate. CHRONOS only displays a small subset of that information for browsing convenience. All trademarks and posters remain the property of their respective rights holders.
If you find an entry that is inaccurate or misattributed, you are welcome to write in — see the Contact page.
